How to Customize Facebook Theme?

Cool blue theme with CSS hover effects for your Facebook addiction!

Customizing your theme only applies to you locally, which means nobody else can see it except yourself. However, it does serve as a very cool eye candy to show off to you and your friends, and they'll be asking how you did it! Here's a picture below, it's actually pretty neat with effects that give out a blue light as you hover over some of the controls.

You actually have to run a Javascript which locally replaces the CSS for the Facebook controls. It is not permanent, so it goes back to normal after you refresh your page. If you really want it to stay permanent, you will need to download something like GreaseMonkey for Firefox which applies it for you every time you visit Facebook. Okay, here's how to do it:

1. The first step is to go to this link: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=TWgqWe2Q
2. Select all (Ctrl + A) and copy it (Ctrl + C).
3. Go to your Facebook home page. You need to be there for the CSS to actually replace the controls on the page itself.
4. If you're using Google Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + J.
   If you're using Mozilla Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + K.
5. Paste the code (Ctrl + V) and press Enter to execute.
6. You will immediately see your Facebook in its new theme.

As of today, maybe this theme doesn't work so well with the new Facebook Timeline, it may have some glitches here and there, but it's still one of the better themes out there. If you find any better themes, please do share it at the chatbox!

I don't really blog much anymore because I have many things to attend to as I'm growing up in this wonderful happy cruel world of sorts. However, I hope the articles here can be of use for times to come.

1. Christmas Card + Necklace






These are some stickers with a heart pendant, all in one packet. I got it from DAISO Japan in Sunway Pyramid, Malayisa. DAISO Japan is a store that sells everything for RM5, so you can take a look. They have really cute stickers there. What? I'm a guy, and yeah I love cute stickers.

So use these stickers and make a Christmas card. Then, get a chain and attach the pendant on it to make a necklace. You can add some beads and Swarovski crystals if you want...TADA! A very sincere Christmas present.




2. Starbucks' Christmas Blend Coffee + Coffee Press
Okay, the coffee press is there if you don't have a coffee maker. French press is cheap, so yeah.

This is a French Press coffee maker. It's probably around RM60 or so.

This is the Starbucks' Christmas Blend. It contains cedar and spice, for year 2010 though, not sure about other years. Each year it tastes a bit different, but many people really liked the Christmas Blend. If you're using French Press, be sure to tell them to grind the coffee for the French Press, and not for other coffee makers.

If let's say you're buying this for your father but you don't have a coffee maker, buy the coffee maker for your father and buy the coffee for your brother or something!

If you ask me, I really like decorative book designs with awesome covers. I usually write and plan things on books and papers, so if I had a beautiful book, I can use it for many occassions.

How to Earn Money Online Easily?

This applies to Southeast Asia region only.


Well people have been earning money through advertisements they put up on their site and the sort. Today, we're going to learn how to earn money by just sharing a link in Facebook or in anywhere possible, even your blog.









How Does It Work?
There's this site called YouthSays, which is a reward platform for youths. It currently supports Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philliphines. Other countries will be supported soon.

All you need to do is to sign-up or you can sign in with your Facebook account (if you're afraid that it's a scam, you can always sign-up a Youthsays account instead). Then, take a look at the campaigns which offer money per click. All you have to do is to click Share This and put it up anywhere you like, even on Facebook! And for every unique click, you get the amount of money that is there.

Basically what you're doing is you're advertising campaigns for them. There are 3 types of campaigns: Sponsored Campaigns, Community Campaigns and User Campaigns. You get CONTRIBUTION POINTS (CP) by sharing Community and User Campaigns which you can use to bid for rewards or make your own campaigns. You get money for sharing Sponsored Campaigns. Each campaign has a set amount of money/CP to give out, so if all money/CP is given, then you won't receive any for that particular campaign anymore.

The last two campaigns are marked Completed which means there is no more money to give out.

How Do I Get Paid?
The minimum pay-out is RM50.00. Although you don't put in your address while making your account, you get to put the address for them to send when you want to receive your money.

Endhiran - The Robot

This is the first Tamil movie I've watched in the cinema...


AND HOLY MOTHERPUPPY THIS IS THE THING! My first Indian movie and it's like the most epic movie ever! You know, I never expected an Indian movie to be this...amazing. This movie is futuristic (even the songs are, damn!) and is a great science-fiction. I'll talk about this movie for a bit.

Endhiran

Story
The story is basically kinda the same for other movies concerning robots, where a robot with programmed emotions start to act accordingly on its own. It's kinda like the real Kenji robot that is made to love. Kenji failed because it "loved" a woman so intense that he stopped her from going out of the room and hugged her tightly with his "100kg hydraulic arms".

Dr. Vaseegaran (acted by Rajni) built this robot and named it Chitti (also by Rajni). Chitti had no emotions at first, so when he saves people, he was not able to act according to humans' emotional preference. Something happened that caused a death of a girl, and Dr. Vaseegaran did not give up. So, he programmed Chitti to have emotions, in which then backfired...because Chitti began to fall in love with the Dr's girlfriend, Sana (acted by Aishwarya Rai). So...yeah, the horror begins.

What I Think About It
Well, this movie has everything. It has comedy, drama, action, musicals and everything! At first, the story was kinda cool and epic...and it gets better and better with some music & dance here and there. When reaching the end, I didn't really like the parts after Chitti became destructive because it was kinda fake, like the part where the army fired at Chitti in a car chase (with lots of cars on the highway) even though a hostage (Sana) was with him in the car. The robot formations are also illogical, from a small sphere with a number of robots, they could suddenly become a long cobra that requires many more robots. But! However fake and annoying it may be, it's so funny and creative that it becomes a good thing!

Futuristic theme, clothing and stuff which is pretty amazing.

The special effects are good, and I can say it's not bad at all. Although its not the most realistic, but it's awesome (they're all made by Chinese / Korean people anyway)...

The music is pretty good too. I've never expected techno-ish music in the movie...and it's very well done. Even the more traditional kinda songs are really um, how should I put it, EPIC.

My favourite songs in the movie are Kilimanjaro and Irumbile Oru Idhayam.

Overall, good movie! It's so epic and funny that you won't wanna miss any scene in the movie. It was really worth my money. I am Chinese, and I had no idea Indian movies could be so epic. It is comparable to the epic American-made movies we've seen.

Yeah, I don't wanna reveal too much... :D it's so epic, so go see for yourself.

New Addiction - PoFV

Alright, recently I've played this game from the Touhou Project and it is really addictive IMO.


This game has been around since 2005, but yeah, it's still pretty awesome.



What is Touhou Project?
It is a series of games created by only one guy called ZUN from Team Shanghai Alice (which the team consists of only him) and most of the games are of the vertical shooter or "bullet hell shooter" genre.

Today, I'll be talking about the 9th Touhou Project, Phantasmagoria of Flower View or PoFV, because it is competitive and has multiplayer.

Main Menu

Phantasmagoria of Flower View
Basically in the story, something happens in every 60 years, and this time, there seems to be a lot of flowers blooming! So it's called Phantasmagoria of Flower View and you get to use a bunch of characters to go through the story.



PoFV's gameplay is a little different. It has 2 side-by-side screens in which you play normally by shooting stuff that comes to you and prevent yourself from dying. The person who dies first will lose. In the process, you can destroy special stuff to create attacks for your opponents and even cast spells to send bullets to your opponents. So it's basically sort of a versus-like game.

The HUD and what it means. Number 9 is Cirno, Ice Fairy...the japanese letters read, "Baka"

So that's basically the general layout of the game. Two screens and a bunch of HUD. The game has Story Mode, which allows you to select characters to go through a story. It also has Match Mode which allows you to fight with other players, AI or even network play. Lastly, it has Extra Mode for players who want to try very challenging levels.

Opponent, Reisen casting a Level 4 spell on me, Tewi.

Spells can be casted by holding down the Shoot (Z) button until it charges up. How much you can charge depends on how much you have in the spell bar at the bottom. A Level 1 Spell will release normal attacks and doesn't deplete. Level 2 / 3 Spells clear up some bullets in your screen and creates specific attacks on your opponent's. Lastly, a Level 4 Spell (Boss Spell) will summon a copy of your character to release a huge and deadly series of bullets in unpredictable ways.

The laser beam on the left side is one of the attacks my opponent, Marisa sent to me, Reimu. The right side has my character in it spamming bullets because I casted a Boss Spell (Level 4 Spell)

Destroying certain entities in your screen also sends attacks to your opponent. So, this game is all about dodging hundreds and thousands of bullets while trying to create hundreds and thousands of bullets for your opponent to dodge till he/she dies. It is quite competitive and fun especially when you get to cast spells and screw up your opponents. It is also quite challenging.

Yes, I wasn't joking about the "hundreds and thousands of bullets" part. This is one game where Easy Mode can kick your ass. It provides fast action and really helps on your hand-eye coordination too. Simple to play, yet very challenging and fun. I recommend it! It's addictive too...try playing it with your friends!

How to Make a RPG Book?

A role-playing game book is a book where you embark on a journey with your selected character.


A RPG Book is a book where you decide the storyline. The book has many pages, and each decision you make will direct you to a specific page to continue your story. The decisions you make might influence the outcome of the story and how your character will develop by playing as the character in the book.




How To Start?
1. Characters
To start making characters, you need to think what your character's race is. Think about age, clothing, hobbies, class and so on to build your own character. Make a detailed biodata of the character, as well as sketch him/her out.






2. Plot
You need to make a thorough story that consists of lots of action and adventure that players would like to go through and make decisions themselves. Draw the setting, the places they go and the situations. Put in a box for them to make decisions to guide themselves through the plot.


3. Battle System & Events
Some RPG Books include a battle system where you can roll a dice to determine how you would fight an enemy. Create your own battle systems by including a dice and counters to keep track of hit points and damage. You can also use dices for random events.








How to Create?
1. Get a book or lots of paper.
Estimate an amount of pages you need to use for your RPG Book. Your book should have lots of pages for the many and random decisions that players might choose. The longer your story is, the better.


2. Character Selection
Make a page where the player can select a character. Include a short description and direct them to a page where they would start after selection. If your story has only one character, then you can let the player discover who he/she actually is while progressing through the story.







3. Decision Making Storyline
Tell your story through illustrations and writing and then let the player decide what to do next. Make a box at the bottom of the page and include a few choices that lead to different pages.


4. More than one ending.
After a series of battles and decision making, the player would finally come to the end of the story. It wouldn't be good if no matter what decision the player make, the ending would still be the same. So, make lots of endings including good and bad endings that are based on the player's decisions.

Additional Tips & Examples
1. Influence System
As seen in certain RPGs, Influence System is one of the things they use to determine what kind of outcome there will be in certain situations. This is also similar to Karma System or others. With this system, if the character chooses to help or side towards a clan or belief, they will gain more influence in that particular part. This is also similar to Star Wars' Light or Darkside.


Example:
While walking in the Acacia Forest, you saw an elf struggling within the binded magic of a skeletal necromancer.

Decisions:
1. Attack the necromancer to free the elf.
2. You understand the intentions of the necromancer in harnessing the power of the elves. Help the necromancer by drawing out the energies of the elf for him.
3. Ignore and move on.

Outcomes:
1. Elven Influence +10
2. Undead Influence +5
3. Nothing



2. Dice Battle System or Dice Event System
The dice can be used to either determine the damage, or determine the future. By rolling the dice, you can give each dice side (1-6) an event, which is actually random depending on the player's luck. This will determine the outcome of the battle, so players don't always win all the time. Sometimes these dice events will make players go through even more exciting situations.

Example:
You are fighting Arun the Necromancer.

Dice Chance Outcomes:
1 - The Necromancer conjured a suffocating spell. Roll the dice again. If outcome is 1, 2 or 3, then you have failed to defeat the Necromancer and must proceed to page 103. Else, you are able to free yourself and continue this battle again.

2 - You are able to find an opening as the Necromancer tried to attack you. You went to his back and stabbed him with your sword. The Necromancer was defeated and you freed the elf. Proceed to page 105.

3 - Roll the dice again.

4 - The Necromancer casted a time distortion spell, go back to page 84.

5 - The Necromancer was far more powerful than you had imagined. He brought the aura of death to send you to the Underworld. If you have already been there previously, then this battle continues. Else, proceed to the Underworld at page 40.

6 - You can choose a spell from your spellbook and try your luck on the Necromancer.



3. Hit Points System
Using counters, you can make a hit points system for your character or enemy. Simply make a page with your character's stats and spells that you can keep track of their hit points by using counters like these.



Example:
Celestine Salvgador - 50HP

Make each counter a 10HP hit. Therefore, if there are 5 counters here, means your character is dead. When a character is dead, you can ask the player to proceed to a certain page to revive themselves or something of the sort.

You can also create your own counters by cutting out round cardboard pieces and write numbers on it.





Have fun making your own RPG Book! RPG Books are always fun and adventurous and is suitable for all ages. There are many more systems you can think of and make. Use your own imagination to make your book more enjoyable!

How to Make a Pen Rifle?

Office weapon? Just a little weapon you can do using office utensils!


I know most of you are bored in the office...or maybe in school. This is a little weapon you can make during your free time using your stationary. Some call this the pen rifle, but you can call it whatever you want.




What You Need
- Pen that you can open both front and back.
- Rubber band.
- Strong duct tape.
- Pen cartridge (replaceable with bamboo skewers)

Steps

1. Put the pen cartridge into the pen that is opened up front and back to make a hollow tube.

2. Twist the rubber band and put it through the pen tube, about the middle of the pen tube.


3. Tape it into place, use duct tape. Cellophane tape is too weak, I just used it because it's all I have.



4. With the rubber band taped into place, stretch it to the back of your pen cartridge and pull it along like a slingshot. Pull further back until you get a decent tension on the rubber band. Release.

Notes
This weapon is not as weak as it looks. It CAN and WILL blind a person if they are shot in the eye even if it is a deflection from the wall. It will be very painful and will cause bleeding when hit on any exposed part of your skin. An average pen rifle shot can travel up to 6 feet which is still very dangerous within that range. Do not use it for fun just to hit your friends.





Caution
Do not stretch the rubber band too far out or the pen may miss the pen tube and hit your fingers instead. It will cause bleeding.

Also, the wearing out of the rubber band will cause the efficiency of the weapon to decrease. It will be harder to make a shot and it will be easier for you to injure yourself if you're not careful. Replace the rubber band with a new one if it is about to tear or is wearing off.

How to Create an Airboard?

This is how to create an airboard using air pressure.


I know what you all want is a hoverboard just like what you see in Back In The Future movie, but it's not what I can do yet. Instead of using magnetism, we'll just use air pressure. Airboard would be a better name for it although some people would like to call it a hoverboard.

This is already simplified so everyone can understand.



What You Need
- A Wooden Board
- A Heavy Duty Skirt (heavy duty cloth)
- PVC Pipes
- PVC Adhesive or Strong Tape
- A Strong Leaf Blower (or anything that blows air out)
- Staple Gun
- Ruler
- Pencil or Pen
- Saw
- Drill
- Screws




How It Works
It works just the same as a hovercraft. Just...smaller.

By using a leaf blower, it blows air into the heavy duty skirt through the board towards the ground. The skirt will then be inflated by air. In the skirt, there are several holes in the middle, allowing the air to escape from there. Because of the ground and the board, the air will have to push out through the bottom of the inflated skirt, creating a cushion of air.

Of course it doesn't look as exaggerated in the picture drawn above, but it's something like that.





Steps
1. For this guide, the board used will be 150cm x 60cm which is roughly around my size =P but of course you could use any measurement you want.


2. Prepare the leaf blower and put it on top of your board. The position doesn't matter, but you could put it at the back so it looks better.


3. You need to get PVC pipes which are suitable for your leaf blower. This is because we need to link the output of the leaf blower to go downwards to the ground. Measure, measure. Tape, tape. Get a 90 degree elbow to direct it downwards. Fix it to the leaf blower.


4. Now saw a hole of about the same size as the PVC pipe diameter but slightly bigger so you can fit it in. After sawing, secure the PVC pipe in place so that air can go out through that hole. Make sure everything is air-tight. Fix the leaf blower in place too. Round off the edges of your board by sawing.


5. Spread your heavy duty skirt and put your board on top of it. Cut the skirt so that you could wrap onto the board like you're wrapping a book. The cut skirt should be slightly bigger than the board, so that you could fold the skirt back up onto the board. Staple it in place with the staple gun.

Bottom View

6. Make another long rectangle from wood, plastic or basically anything to use as a gromit. Drill and screw this onto the middle of the board below, on the skirt. This is there so that when air inflates the skirt, the measurement is the same from the edge of the board to the gromit on all regions for equilibrium. In this case, a 100cm x 10cm gromit is used, leaving 25cm of space for the air to move in the skirt from edge to gromit. You may refer to the diagram above.


7. Now, cut some small holes of any measurement around the gromit maybe around 2cm to 5cm radius or more. Make sure they're all equidistant from each other. This isn't really important but it helps in balancing of the board later. In the diagram, the X marks are the positions of the holes. You could reduce the number of holes, it doesn't matter much.


8. Now put your board on the ground, start the leaf blower and hop on it!




Precautions
1. If you don't wanna crash miserably, ride it on flat and smooth surfaces only.

2. It does not work on water, one leaf blower is certainly not enough.

3. If it doesn't hover, it's either everything is too heavy, the air isn't strong enough or the air escaped somewhere else.

4. You can steer it like a skateboard by leaning on one side, it might be hard.

5. Lastly, leaning too much to one side can fail you!





This is just a basic idea used in a hovercraft. It is made simpler into a mini-board just for fun. You could try something else like Airshoes or something by applying this onto shoes. Of course, you won't wanna do much with it because you could faceplant yourself anytime.

Evo's new map called Are You Retard? is now released for Warcraft III.



If you wanna test your intelligence, this is a nice map. Although some of the questions are retarded anyway and you can't really answer logically! This map tests whether you are a retard or not, and you'll win the game by completing all the challenges and reach the end.
